Dynamics GP Technical Support: No Customer Left Behind

How about finding Great Plains Dynamics GP VAR, Partner or Reseller who supports all ever released versions of Great Plains (recently renamed into Microsoft Dynamics GP): 2010/11.0, 10.0, 9.0, 8.0. 7.5, 7.0, 6.0, 5.5, 5.0, 4.0 and even going further into the history – Great Plains Accounting for DOS, Windows or Mac 9.5, 9.2, 9.1, and earlier.  Alba Spectrum is launching the project “no Great Plains Customer left behind”, where we will be supporting GPA for DOS, Intellisol Purchase Order Processing and Project Accounting, Microsoft Small Business Financials 9.0 and 8.0 (plus Great Plains Small Business Manager 6.0, 7.0 and 7.5).  Let’s review the services provided:

1. Walking away from Intellisol.  This is the right step to undertake, especially now in 2010 (most of the Great Plains customers switched over from Intellisol to Dynamics GP Purchase Order Processing in earlier 2000th).  There is migration tool, allowing you to walk away from legacy Intellisol Advanced POP to regular Great Plains POP module

1. Walking away from Great Plains Select on Pervasive SQL 2000/Btrieve/Ctree.  Definitely the recommended step, but it requires Dynamics GP Great Plains consultant to be involved.  There is migration path moving you all the way from Great Plains Dynamics 7.5 via Dynamics GP 9.0/10.0 and to the final destination Dynamics GP 2010/11.0

Well, gentlemen, I am on Great Plains Accounting for DOS, could you share with me my options to move away from GPA and be on modern Corporate ERP?  Yes, this is one of our favorite customer profiles.  Our consultants are trained to support you on Great Plains Accounting for DOS, Windows (and partially on Mac), versions 9.5, 9.2, 9.1 and earlier

Amigos.  I am really favoring such modern wireless and cellular technologies as WiMax, LTE, 3G and 4G, MyFi personal hot spots.  Currently we are testing Dynamics GP user workstation connection to the SQL server over 4G/WiMax Clear/Spring Cellular Broadband Connection.  The signal seems to be too high in its bearing frequency, meaning that it is not really friendly to such structures as mountains (especially in California, North Carolina, Montana, Utah, Nevada).  LTE is the next one to be tested, and according to Verizon Wireless officials it might be more flexible in the sense of going into the office buildings and residential houses (plus probably breaking through Southern and Northern California mountains)
