All About The Gazebo Canopy
The word gazebo has always conjured up an image of a circular garden pavilion in my mind. Gazebos have several names e.g. pagodas, summerhouses, screen houses pergolas and arbors. They didn’t originally start out as garden structures, but were built as towers or lanterns on the roofs of houses. The earliest known gazebos were in Egypt about 5000 BC. The earliest mural that has been found in a tomb dates back to 1400 BC. Gazebo-like structures were built in Rome and ancient Greece.
Gazebos are beautiful, octagon shaped, pavilion structures that can usually be seen in parks, royal gardens and other public places, whilst more and more people are buying gazebos not only to enhance the look and comfort of their own gardens but to also fully enjoy nature and the beauty of the open. The history of the Gazebo goes back thousands of years and they have often been mentioned in ancient Chinese and Persian literature as well as many other classical civilizations, the finest examples of early gazebos are the garden houses at Mont acute house. Many homeowners like to use a pop up canopy gazebo to create a shady spot in their garden where they can relax and enjoy their beautiful plants and flowers. The area you want to build your gazebo is another extremely important decision to make, things such as regulations, permits, construction and additional configuration details need to be taken into consideration and it may well be a good idea to call out your municipal authority just to run through the regulations and rules associated to its construction with them.
It was much later that I came to know that it is called a gazebo and is a common structure in landscaped gardens around the world. Gazebos are also known by several other names like pagodas, screen houses etc. So you can select from thousands of designs and have a backyard gazebo that matches the design of your lawn. Most people feel that they do not need an expensive structure like a garden gazebo to get a view of their gardens.
An outdoor gazebo can be used for al fresco dining, or entertaining friends. They can function as fitness rooms, or as a place for meditation and prayer. Some people use gazebos for hot tubs, as pool houses, and recreation rooms. However many people add screens, windows and doors to further protect from the elements and add privacy. Gazebos come in many shapes. Others are square, oval or round.
