The Garmin Montana 650T Purchaser Evaluation – A Leading Hunting Or Hiking Handheld GPS Device!
I have had no genuine problems using theGarmin Montana 650t. True, it has some quirks. 1 is the fact that the new lithium battery needs to be charged through the integrated ac adaptor. (EDIT: it can be re-charged by way of Pc!) I was also disaappointed by the lack of a carabiner (just like the Oregon). But, I had no dilemma hooking up the Montana to my MacBook Pro to go into mass storage mode. as for maps, I often buy a microSD version so I can move it to an additional unit if I want.
That stated, I think the Garmin Montana 650t is actually a fine gadget. The calibration with the 3-axis compass is smoother than it had been on some other models, I love the bigger and much more sunlight-readable display (nevertheless not perfect but greater) and and I specifically such as the new layout. The overlay from the compass around the map (removable, should you like) is a bonus. The GPS is as correct as any Garmin unit and works reasonably properly beneath tree cover.
