How to Avoid Hooks
Although most of the players try to hit the ball to the left from the right, but when draw is changed into hook, it is also a trouble. That will make your ball far away from the fairways and greens, on the contrary, your ball will fly into the rough on the left side. What’s more, that will lead you hit to the right obviously to correct it. Therefore, you need to improve your ability to avoid hook.
Understand cause and effect
In order to completely overcome hooks, you have to make yourself fully clear about the cause. Usually speaking, severe left hook is caused by a series of wrong actions. First, when you start to hit the ball, your hip swings toward the target direction at a sudden, the interval between your golf club and your back of is too large, which results in the pole trajectory swings completely from the inside to the outside. In order to avoid flying to the batting of outside, both hands translat pole one lightly and will cause hook to state of closing.
Medium grip
In view of the above mentioned facts, you should avoid any casting movement when your golf club face first reaches the ball. That would starts with holding the golf grip. High-level skilled players tend to adopt a strong grip method, this will make the face closed when golf club face reaches the ball. Medium grip method is able to make you see your two finger arthrosis, then your hands from V, which is just opposite the middle line between your jaw and right shoulder, which is able to help the golf club face towards target when you stroke the ball.
Exercise slice shot
Next time when you go to the driving range, just intentionally make some seriously slice. Make your hand extrapolate the ball. It seems to be a bad slice, but it maybe a perfectly streight shot. Because you are so accustomed to swing from the inside to outside, even thought you swing on the correct track, you may feel it is wrong. Please pay attention to the following three aspects when you are playing golf.
Firstly, when your hip swing too serve towards the target direction, the pole trajectory swings completely from the inside to the outside.
Secondly, in order to avoid flying to the batting of outside, both hands translat pole one lightly and will cause hook to state of closing.
Last but not the least, neutral grip can help the golf club face towards the target when you stroke the ball.
The above skills is what I concluded through practise. Just write here to share my experience. I really hope it is helpful to lots of golf players to improve your skills and to avoid hooks.
