How to fix rundll errors

Rundll errors can be very trou­ble­some when run­ning or down­load­ing a pro­gram. Rundll errors are com­mon errors that some­times get resolved upon reboot­ing the PC. But you can con­trol its fre­quency of occur­rence and can also be elim­i­nated com­pletely. Let’s talk about that now…

1. The first step to pre­vent is by clean­ing your win­dows reg­istry, which is the heart of your PC. Reg­istry as its name sounds reg­is­ters and records all the vital set­tings of all soft­wares, hard­wares and other set­tings of your com­puter. Thus after every installation/uninstallation of pro­grams the datas are recorded in the reg­istry. When a pro­gram asks for a restart of PC it means that it needs to update the reg­istry and retrieve infor­ma­tion for the future use. Thus clean­ing a reg­istry is vital since it gets bloated up with con­stant flow of infor­ma­tions from and to them. The entries that are left in it from incom­plete instal­la­tion and removal of pro­grams accu­mu­late over­time and lead to the pro­gram con­flicts which are the root cause of rundll errors!
2. Spy­wares, Tro­jans, worms and virus are also the causes of rundll errors. These mal­wares are installed on your com­puter with­out your notice when you visit a harm web­sites or down­loaded infected emails. They all attack the reg­istry set­tings. A good antivirus and anti­spy­ware pro­grams are indis­pens­able to keep your sys­tem clean off these mal­ware programs!
3. Then the last step is to find the file that is caus­ing rundll error and remove it. You can go to mscon­fig and remove the unwanted startup pro­grams. To do that go to start menu > Run > Type “mscon­fig” with­out quotes and then mscon­fig util­ity open up. You need to hop over the startup tab and remove the pro­grams that you don’t want. Repeat until you have iden­ti­fied the file that is caus­ing the prob­lem. Once you have iden­ti­fied the file, unin­stall it and install it fresh or use an alter­na­tive of the pro­gram. For exam­ple, you have iden­ti­fied that limewire is start­ing up on every PC startup and after dis­abling it from startup the rundll error is gone. You can unin­stall it and install it from fresh or use an alter­na­tive such as bit­tor­rent etc…
4. Also when a rundll error prompts, if there is an option to see the details of the error from the error mes­sage, click on and view the error details. Chances are that the appli­ca­tion will be revealed or the dll file that is caus­ing the prob­lem will be revealed. You can unin­stall it. The prob­lem will be then solved
