Things to do in Colorado Springs, CO
Looking for fun things to do in Colorado Springs? There is always plenty to do here at 6035 feet above sea level. If you’re more of a go-getter, there are endless outdoor activities to keep you busy, And if you like to take it easy, we got you covered too.
Soak in the soothing waters of one of many Colorado Hot Springs.
Camping in Colorado gets you out in the mountains, next to a campfire, and under the stars.
Go hiking on one of many Colorado Springs hiking trails. They’re free! And beautiful. Mountain views. Streams. Clean air. Fresh pine. Get outside! Ride a horse if necessary, but get outside.
Take a ride on the Pikes Peak Cog Railway to the summit of Pikes Peak at 14,110 feet.
Enjoy a java with a mountain view at one of several Colorado Springs coffee shops.
Study the sculptures on an art walk as you go shopping in downtown Colorado Springs. Have lunch or dinner at one of dozens of downtown restaurants.
Order “a flight” of microbrews at one of several Colorado Springs Brew Pubs and discover your favorite local beer. Is it a lager? An IPA? How about one of those specialty beers brewed with apricots? You might be surprised at what you’ll find.
Ski or Snowboard in the finest snow in the world. We suggest venturing out to Wolf Creek Ski Area, Monarch, or Vail to experience a powder paradise. Or visit one of the many other Colorado ski resorts like Loveland and A-Basin. If you love skiing and riding, look into getting season tickets like the Colorado Pass or Rocky Mountain Super Pass. And check out our tips page about Colorado skiing on a budget.
Go snowshoeing on breathtakingly beautiful mountain trails.
A hot air balloon ride will give you a stunning bird’s eye view of Colorado Springs and all its natural beauty.
Go mountain biking on one of many single-track trails in the area. Or, descend Pikes Peak with one of the local outfitters to see what it’s like to ride at 14,000 feet.
If you’re feeling adventurous, go on a whitewater rafting trip down the Arkansas River.
Colorado Springs nightclubs offer plenty of entertainment. From dance to comedy to martini bar or rock-n-roll, a nightclub will keep you active well after the sun goes down.
One of our favorite things to do in Colorado Springs is to visit one of the Colorado State Parks. Cheyenne Mountain, Mueller, and Eleven Mile State Parks are all in close proximity to the springs, and offer great hikes, camping sites, visitor’s centers, and as always, amazing views.
Step it up a notch and take a day trip to one of four Colorado National Parks. Rocky Mountain, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Great Sand Dunes, or Mesa Verde. They’re all awe-inspiring.
Ride a Horse through the Garden of the Gods and gaze at the rolling foothills and Pikes Peak beyond.
Try your hand (and feet) at rock climbing. Colorado Springs is a mecca for scaling rock.
