SOG Seal Team Knife Review

The SOG Seal Team is the official knife of the US Navy Seals. Rigorous testing by the US Government proved beyond a doubt this knife can stand up to all conditions. These tests included tip breaking stress, blade breaking limit, edge retention, handle twist off force, two week salt water immersion tests, chopping, hammering, prying, penetration, low noise and reflectivity evaluation. This knife should be a consideration for those in law enforcement, military, campers, hunters or for that matter anyone looking for a good hard use blade.

The bowie style blade of AUS 8A insures toughness and edge retention, and the edge has been honed razor sharp. Serrations are another feature that will help with those extra tough chores. The fit and finish of the seal team is what you’ve come to expect from SOG. 1st class all the way down to the molded zytel handle and MOLLe nylon sheath.

The checkered finger grooved handle will assure a positive grip and a feeling of confidence when using the knife. A lanyard may be added to the already present lanyard hole for additional safety, and indexing.

The applications of this knife are endless and should be able to handle just about anything thrown at it. This knife is not for everyone. It is not a bird and trout knife or a light duty hunter, but rather has been designed for the most harsh conditions and elements. If you need a knife that just might save your life someday, the Seal Team would be a great choice.
